Buganda road court has charged the three health ministry officials arrested yesterday with with corruption and neglect of duty.
The trio include Dr. Richard Ndyomugyenyi, the programme manager of the Malaria control programme, his deputy Dr. Myers Lugemwa and the administrative manager, Martin Shibek.
They are said to have misappropriating drugs worth over 2 billion shillings.
Grade one Magistrate, John Patrick Wekese has remanded suspects to Luziira prison until March 12 for a ruling on whether they could be granted bail.
Prosecution submitted to the court that its not within the magistrate's court's jurisdiction to grant them bail. However the defence lawyer argued that there is no law that excludes the such court to preside over the matter.
The accused had earlier arraigned sureties including Prof George Kiirya, the chairperson of the Heath service commission.
